The Mississippi Community Education Center, through its partnership with New Learning Resources School District, offers technical assistance in implementing an accredited high school online diploma program adaptable to your organization's needs. This program is accredited by the Mississippi Department of Education and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
21st CENTURY LEARNING CENTER PROGRAM
The MCEC 21st Century Learning Center Program is a collaborative effort between Leake County School District and Mississippi Community Education Center. The 21st CCLC program provides educational services including: one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, language arts and math enrichment, technology enriched learning, skills development, parent development and support, among a host of other services to underperforming youth, at-risk youth and children from economically diverse backgrounds. PROFESSIONAL SERVICES MCEC offers assistance in establishing and evaluating your organization’s professional development guidelines. We can also help your organization establish continuing education units for your educators through various program affiliations. Event Start, Head Start and 21st Century Community Learning Centers External Evaluations and Professional Development Training Public and Non-Public Schools, After-School Programs and State/Federal Agencies.
ARTS The Mississippi Community Education Center is dedicated to the expansion of the arts in Mississippi. As such, MCEC is proud to partner with the Mississippi Arts Commission and VSA Arts of Mississippi in providing art enrichment and art education opportunities to youth and families across Mississippi.
LEAD POISON PREVENTION MCEC partners with Mississippi Department of Health to provide the Childhood Lead Poison Prevention Program (CLPPP) in Hinds, Sunflower, Washington, Holmes and Humphreys Counties. CLPPP’s primary purpose is to educate residents of high risk areas on the dangers of lead poison to children especially those younger than age six. MISSISSIPPI TOBACCO-FREE COALITION
MCEC has created coalitions and provides programmatic services in Winston, Attala, Leake, Warren, Claiborne, Montgomery, Choctaw, and Webster counties. Through community coalitions in the participating counties MCEC will implement services to prevent the initiation of tobacco use among youth, reduce exposure to secondhand smoke, promote tobacco cessation services and eliminate tobacco related disparities.
NATIONAL LITERACY The Mississippi Community Education Center partners with the National Coalition for Literacy and Dollar General Foundation to build awareness and capacity for adult education and literacy in Mississippi.
CHILDHOOD OBESITY The Mississippi Community Education Center in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Education, Catherine Carter; childhood obesity advocate, 4Tell Films and New Summit School, has developed the childhood obesity program, You’ve Gotta Move. This program is provided through state appropriated funds to Mississippi Public School classes Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Learn more...

MCEC of Iuka partners with Corinth Wellness Center to promote a fun exercise program and health program for kids onsite. Learn your ABC’s: Agility, Balance, Coordination and strength training drills.
