The Mississippi Community Education Center (MCEC) has been dedicated to serving the families of Mississippi for more than 30 years.
MCEC was established in Mississippi in 1974 through the National Community Education Association (NCEA) and thereby recognized by NCEA as the official state coordinator of community education in Mississippi. MCEC was created to provide the sound infrastructure needed to carry out the philosophy of community education.
The purpose of the Mississippi Community Education Center is the promotion, improvement and expansion of communities through concept development, educational processes and resource referrals. MCEC strives to meet the lifelong learning needs of families by uniting educational and business sectors into a collaboration of talent and services, thus creating a more progressive, healthy community.
