Lead Poison
MCEC partners with Mississippi Department of Health to provide the Childhood Lead Poison Prevention Program (CLPPP) in Hinds, Sunflower, Washington, Holmes and Humphreys Counties. CLPPP’s primary purpose is to educate residents of high risk areas on the dangers of lead poison to children especially those younger than age six. This program is also intended to build capacity and awareness through the establishment of Community Coalition Boards which act as advocates within the community.
