Who We Are
The 21st CCLC is an afterschool program focused on the educational success of children that otherwise would not have access to such services. The afterschool program has allowed for extended school year services to be provided.
What We Do
21st CCLC program is able to provide services to the children of New Summit School and Leake County. Teachers have reported increased interest from participant parents in student academics; attributed in part to required parent events and report of student achievement made to parents. The students have also experienced the added benefit of extended day services that build upon the regular day activities. Students that require additional help in Math, English and Language Arts are struggling in a particular subject area to receive one-on-one tutoring. The benefits are seen beyond grades alone; student confidence, self-esteem, and behavior are positively affected.
